Something stands between you and almost everything you’ve ever wanted. It doesn’t feel like an obstacle. It feels like the way things work. That’s the system’s single greatest achievement, it made itself indistinguishable from the path.

You don’t resent it. You prepare for it. You train for it. You go into debt for it. You thank it. You recommend it to your children. The most elegant interception ever engineered is the one that convinced the intercepted that the toll was the journey.

And it is measurable. The distance between what you are capable of and what you have been permitted to access has never been a reflection of you. It is a reflection of what was built to sustain itself between you and that capability. The system does not exist to serve the people inside it. It exists to perpetuate itself. The fact that it serves people at exactly the dose required to sustain belief in it is its most convincing feature.

This is not new. What is new is that for the first time in human history the cost of removing that distance is collapsing. Not because the system agreed to collapse its architecture. Because it no longer has a monopoly on the means.

You already know what you would do with that distance closed. You’ve always known.
